Choose your poison

If a person were to read the news, they'd realize how much is riding on this election. While we're still deciding between two moderates (differing only on the stereotypes of their parties; e.g. gay unions, abortion, public funding, etc), both men are relatively ignorant. They are figureheads (a point I'm sure all six of the people who read this are aware of), but at least one of them knows how to do that properly.

It is not the political system that is allowing candidates to be ignorant, but the voters. The last president was an all-time low in foreign intelligence, not even knowing foreign presidents' names. If it seems that politics are getting increasingly corrupt, the populace should realize that pointing that finger at the government institutions still leaves three fingers pointing back at themselves.
